Truth, Lies and Killing
[Islamist] Truth is straight. Lies is crooked. A straight wood can be a ruler. A straight man is also a ruler. In shape there’s guidances. In all creations there’s guidances and lessons. 😉
[ NM ] Not sure if I agree on your statement with regards to truth and lies.
From own personal live experience : Truth can be messy, painful, incomplete, or difficult to understand. Lies can sometimes sound smooth, simple, and convincing. Sometimes being too honest and too truthful can lead you into trouble. Truth is not always “straight,” and lies are not always obviously “crooked.
In relation to your statement on "In shape there’s guidances. In all creations there’s guidances and lessons" Kinda of agree with you on this with exception. I was at the park earlier for my regular morning walk, and saw the beauty of nature. I took the moment to just watch them.. I saw a family of chickens together. I personally see beauty, care, and family togetherness. But another person may see something completely different. So perhaps the guidance or lesson is not fixed within the creation itself, but emerges through the observer’s own mind, experiences, and values
[Islamist] When we have a straight Ruler, we can lean on it to be straight 😉
[ NM ] Who decides what the “straight ruler” is? Yes, humans need principles and standards. But the challenge is ensuring that the ruler itself is not warped by ego, power, fear, or ideology.
[Islamist] You can’t identify straight and crooked?
[ NM ] : And since you asked : You can't identify straight and crooked, my respond will be and this is based on my own live experience interaction with people and holding the top position in an organization is sometimes not so simple. People can appear straight and still be crooked, and some who look crooked may actually be sincere.
[Islamist] I see many cases including mine where lies are trusted as way of safety by the liars.
[ NM ] I understand what you mean. Sometimes people lie because they feel it protects them, and sadly those lies can even be rewarded or trusted more easily than honesty. That can make a sincere person feel tired, disappointed, or even foolish for trying to be truthful. I think experiences like that can slowly make a person guarded. Not because they want to become dishonest, but because they no longer feel safe being completely open. I learned that honesty is not always recognized by others, so I stopped chasing the image of being ‘straight’ and focused on being true to myself.
[Islamist ] Truth has it’s own power. If kept in the heart, it will dig itself out. If buried deep in the ground, it will find it way out.
[NM] On your statement about "truth has its own power, if kept it in the heart it will dig itself out. If buried deep in the ground, it will find its way out"
This is how I see it: Truth exists independently, but human beings never encounter it in a completely pure form. We interpret reality through our own minds, experiences, emotions, and beliefs. That is why different people can look at the same reality and arrive at different understandings of ‘truth.
[Islamist] They said truth hurts. Which one actually hurts? Truth or lies?
[NM] In my own experience, when I handle certain sensitive situations: truth and lies can both hurt, depending on the situation and intention. Sometimes, telling the truth immediately, without sensitivity or timing, can deeply wound a person. That does not mean we should lie, but perhaps wisdom is knowing when, how, and whether a person is emotionally ready for certain truths.
[Islamist] If you noticed, jahat dan zalim itu tiada pada binatang. Ianya hanya ada pada manusia.
[Translated : Evil and cruelty do not exist in animals. They exist only in humans]
[NM] with regards to "Jahat dan zalim.. and you said tiada ada pada binatang. Hanya pada manusia" Im not so I can agree with you on this. I am an animal lover myself. I rescue abandon cats and treat them when they're sick. Based on my observation.. Humans are capable of terrible things, agree. But I’m not sure ‘jahat’ and ‘zalim’ exist only in humans. Animals can also display aggression, domination, abandonment, and even cruelty within their own survival systems. The difference may be that humans attach moral language and conscious meaning to these actions.”
[Islamist] When a lion killed and ate a deer, do you consider the lion as jahat and zalim?
[NM] This is my position: A lion killing a deer is part of nature and survival. We do not call it ‘jahat’ because the lion is not reflecting morally on its actions. Humans are different because we possess self-awareness, ethical reasoning, and the ability to choose beyond instinct. That may be why concepts like ‘jahat’ and ‘zalim’ become meaningful mainly in human society. Humans kill for many reasons: fear, revenge, ideology, survival, mental illness, power, and desperation. That does not automatically justify the act, but it makes me ask not only ‘Who is evil?’ but also ‘What created this human being?
